Improving access to abortion in New South Wales: health providers and women’s perspectives

Are you a health practitioner who is involved in counselling, referral, or the provision of pregnancy termination in NSW? If yes, we would like to invite you to participate in a study to explore access to abortion in NSW. This will involve a phone interview of approx. 30 minutes at a time that is convenient for you.

This study aims to gain an understanding of the attitudes, perceptions, practices and experience of NSW clinicians in providing abortion and/or referral for abortion (medical and surgical).
We are interested in learning about issues related to the challenges of providing either medical or surgical abortion to women, referral, and professional development needs in this area. The study has been approved by UTS and Family Planning NSW human ethics committees.

All interviews will be confidential and de-identified in terms of the service and provider names.

Family Planning NSW have funded this research. This study has been approved by UTS and Family Planning NSW human ethics committees.

Please contact Dr Rachel Nicholls: rachel.nicholls@uts.edu.au or Dr Angela Dawson angela.dawson@uts.edu.au for any questions or if you would like to take part.
