The Rural Workforce Agency Network has announced the launch of the first national call for applications for the Health Workforce Scholarship Program.
The Scholarship Program is intended to improve the access to services needed in remote and rural areas across Australia by supporting an increase in skills, capacity and scope of practice for medical, nursing and allied health professionals working in primary health care. The Rural Workforce Agency Network will deliver the Scholarship Program in each state and the Northern Territory.
To be eligible for the Scholarship Program applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Health professionals in the fields of medicine, nursing or allied health, including Aboriginal Health Workers.
- Provide services or intend to provide services to MMM 3-7 locations.
- Not be employed solely by the State Government.
Applications for the Scholarship Program will open Monday 20 November, 2017 with applications closing on Wednesday 20 December, 2017. Further national calls for applications will occur each year.
