Details of the 25 successful applicants in Round 5 of the Rural Health Continuing Education program (Stream 2) are now available on the Alliance website. In the period 2010-2014 the RHCE2 program funded 98 projects.
The RHCE2 program helps health professionals working in rural and remote Australia to access continuing education and training. Eligible professionals are Aboriginal Health Practitioners/Workers, allied health workers, nurses, midwives and general practitioners.
The grants awarded help remote clinicians, both as individuals and as members of multidisciplinary teams, to provide effective care. Being able to access continuing professional development is one of the key issues supporting the recruitment and retention of health professionals to more remote areas.
