Shining a light – scoring health benefits for rural people

Saturday, 3 August 2013

The Alliance has published its 2013 Election Charter, Shining a light on rural and remote health. Its purpose is to ensure a strong focus on rural and remote health in the Election campaign. The Alliance is calling on the major parties to make ongoing and new commitments in seven areas via 35 specific questions which are amenable to Yes/No answers.

The Alliance recognises that fiscal circumstances are tight but believes it is vital for governments to support rural and remote communities to give their people equivalent levels of health and wellbeing to those experienced by people in the major cities.

As the weeks progress, an Election Scorecard will be published on the Election 2013 page of our website rating the parties on the basis of their pre-election policies.
