To date over $180,000 has been raised by our friends at Royal Far West through their annual
charity bike ride. Led by Ride ambassador, former professional cyclist Scott Sunderland, twenty-eight riders commenced the Ride in Moree on 15 March and travelled through Bingara, Narrabri and Gunnedah before arriving in Tamworth on 18 March. For the riders it was incredibly special to be able to listen to stories of how Royal Far West had changed the lives of many families in rural and remote NSW.
Royal Far West was delighted with the level of support they received from Mayors, MPs, business owners, schools and members of local communities. Without that, they would not have been able to raise such a significant amount to support the delivery of free health and wellbeing checks to kids in country NSW and telecare speech and psychology to 500 kids in isolated NSW communities. The funds raised will also support a Country Kids Leadership program in Manly.
The Alliance was pleased to support Riding for Country Kids and greatly values our relationship with Royal Far West. Along with Royal Far West CEO Lindsay Cane, we want to thank NSW communities for their support of the Ride and for their generous donations. We encourage people to make a donation to this wonderful service for rural and remote children and their families. Donations are still being accepted and can be made via the website at http://ridingforcountrykids2015.gofundraise.com.au/.
