Rethinking health care in rural and remote areas

Tuesday, 8 April 2014

The Alliance has had an article published in the April edition of The Health Advocate, a journal of the Australian Healthcare and Hospitals Association (AHHA). The authors (Lesley Barclay and Penny Hanley) point out that health service managers can sometimes be the forgotten profession.

The article discusses the fact that good quality health services require good quality managers and outlines some examples of integrated health service delivery. Strong leadership brings coordination of health care as well as effective communication between healthcare professionals, communities and patients.
