Nick Goodwin, CEO of the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC), was in Australia in July for meetings in Newcastle and Canberra. While he was at the annual Primary Health Care Research Conference organised by PHCRIS, Nick had a brief 'meet and greet' with the NRHA.
The IFIC is a not-for-profit network "that crosses organisational and professional boundaries to bring people together to advance the science, knowledge and adoption of integrated care policy and practice. It seeks to achieve this through the development and exchange of ideas among academics, researchers, managers, clinicians, policy makers and users and carers of services throughout the World."
IFIC's 2nd World Congress on Integrated Care will take place in Sydney, 23-25 November 2014. The conference has been developed in partnership with Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health of the University of Newcastle and is supported by New South Wales Health.
David Perkins, Editor of the Australian Journal of Rural Health (AJRH) is a member of the IFIC Board.
