The NRHA Submission in response to the Green Paper on developing Northern Australia (August 2014) is now publicly available. The health sector is a key industry in Northern Australia with considerable potential for growth. Health services will be necessary to underpin the development of Northern Australia whatever directions are followed.
You can see all the public submissions as they are published on the White Paper on Developing Northern Australia pages of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet website.
Input from the public submissions will inform the White Paper the Government is producing to “set out a clear, well-defined and timely policy platform for realising the full economic potential of the north, including a plan for implementing these policies over the next two, five, 10 and 20 years.”
Northern Australia is broadly defined as the parts of Australia north of the Tropic of Capricorn, spanning Western Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland; an area of approximately 3 million square kilometers with a population of around one million people.
