Making the farm safer for children

Tuesday, 7 April 2015

It is a tragedy that every year about 30 children die on Australian farms. Farmsafe Australia has released a checklist on Child Safety on Rural Properties. The checklist covers important safety concerns on things such as ‘A safe place to play’, ‘Water’, ‘Farm Vehicles’ and much more. The National Rural Health Alliance suggests that all people who have children either living or visiting a farm, download a copy of the checklist. We also recommend you visit the Farmsafe Australia website at www.farmsafe.org.au for more information on controlling the unique farm risks that exist for children. For your copy of the checklist please click on Child Safety on Rural Properties – let’s make farms a safe place for children to enjoy and experience the benefits of rural life.
