Have you registered for the 13th National Rural Health Conference in Darwin?

Wednesday, 21 January 2015

An updated version of the preliminary program is now available on the Conference website.  It includes some of the topics for concurrent sessions and an updated list of keynote speakers.

There will be sessions on ‘Personality type and rural/remote practice’; learning from natural disasters; oral health; and ‘food deserts’ – reflections on the challenges of making fresh food available and affordable in more remote areas.

Rob Knowles, Commissioner, National Mental Health Commission, and Carole Reeve, public health expert from Alice Springs, have joined the list of confirmed keynote speakers.

Many of the selected papers will include consideration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues, and have a focus on more remote areas, including Australia’s North. There will be special sessions on health service challenges in Australia’s region, especially Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste.

Register before 31 January 2015 to take advantage of the early-bird registration. Check the website for the full program in February 2015.

A range of pre-conference events are listed on the Conference website and more events will be added as details become available. Registration for pre-conference events will open in February.
