It’s going to be a big year with the 13th National Rural Health Conference being held in Darwin, 24-27 May 2015. We are expecting over 1,000 delegates who are passionate about the health and wellbeing of people in rural and remote Australia to be in attendance. Friends of the Alliance is pleased to announce that the Unsung Hero Award and the Photo and Poetry Competitions, held in conjunction with the Conference, are NOW OPEN and we encourage you to get involved and help us spread the word!
The Unsung Hero Award exists to recognise those who make a significant but largely unrecognised contribution to the health and wellbeing of Indigenous, remote or small rural communities. They are the quiet achievers who work tirelessly with little recognition or reward. Please remember that to nominate for this award you must be a Friends of the Alliance member. Nominate an Unsung Hero in your community today!
The top 20 entries in the Friends Photo and Poetry Competitions will be exhibited at the 13th Conference for delegates to vote for their favourite. We encourage you to celebrate what you love about life in rural and remote Australia by sending your entries in by Thursday 9 April 2015.
