Alliance's report on rural equity for disability services

Saturday, 8 June 2013

The Alliance has published the report of its Practical Design Fund project which includes recommendations for delivering equitable services to people living with a disability in rural and remote areas. Rural people need to be closely involved as the scheme is rolled out to ensure that it covers the particular circumstances of those of its clients who live in rural and remote areas.

With support from FAHCSIA's Practical Design Fund the Alliance has rapidly developed its capacity to disseminate information and seek advice from relevant people where disability services in rural and remote areas are concerned.

Information from clients, their carers and their clinicians in rural and remote communities has been central to the project, including to the Roundtable held in Parliament House on 29 April 2013 in collaboration with the National Disability and Carer Alliance.
