Delivering equitable services to people living with a disability in rural and remote areas - Final Project Report FaHCSIA Practical Design Fund

08 June 2013
The final project report outlines the National Rural Health Alliance consultations and communications with people living in rural and remote areas about the development of the National Disability Insurance Scheme(NDIS), now called DisabilityCare Australia. Recommendations for delivering equitable services to people living with disability in rural and remote areas include particular consideration of the close relationships between health professionals, health and aged care and community organisations when disability services are scarce. The appendices to the report of the Practical Design Fund project supported by FaHCSIA include a discussion paper, submissions during the passage of the legislation and the report of a roundtable in Parliament House in April 2013 in collaboration with the National Disability and Carers Alliance.
